Thank You Succulents!

I can’t believe the end of another school year is upon us!  The last few weeks of school are always a little bitter sweet for me.  I’m so excited for summer, yet I’m heart broken that my kids continue to grow up just as fast as can be!

This year we are taking our kids out of school a week early and headed to Utah to visit our families.  With only a few short weeks left before it’s officially summer, we’ve been busy wrapping up the year.  Last weekend the kids and I crafted up some fun little gifts for their teachers, including our piano, band, and choir instructors! IMG_1938 With Cole being sick this past week, I went ahead and made one for his teacher to test things out before having the kids craft their own.IMG_1995

Thank You Gift SUPPLIES LIST:

  • Pot – 4 1/2″ Terra Cotta Pot (find at any nursery, craft, or dollar store)
  • Rose Gold Metalic Paint and Paint Brush
  • Thin Washi Tape
  • Twine
  • Tag (instant download linked below) and Chalk Pen
  • Succulent, Flower, or other Plant of Choice and Soil
  • Eyelet Grommet (optional)
  • Cute kiddos to help you craft

Of course, you can make these yourself if you’d rather, but I love getting my kids involved and they sure had fun helping to make their sweet teachers a gift.IMG_1772To begin, we painted the top portion of our pots with a pretty, metallic, rose gold paint, just to spruce them up a bit.2017-05-04Next, we added a stripe of thin washi tape below the painted rim and along the bottom edge.  This proved to be the most difficult part for little fingers and required a bit of help from mom.2017-05-005Add a little soil and you’re ready to plant.2017 MayYou will need to cut out the tag after printing the instant download (or you can make your own tag).  Punch a hole in the indicated area and add a cute grommet, if desired.  Next, let your children sign their own name with a chalk marker.IMG_1806IMG_1903Wrap a bit of twine around the top of your pot, secure your tag, and you’re all set!IMG_1948This was such a fun Saturday craft for the kids and makes a great gift for those who do so much for our kiddos!  Happy crafting!
